Forever to Sail the Dream
The cabin was in near total darkness. Thick, heavy curtains covered the port-hole blocking out the light from outside the ship from coming in. All other lights were extinguished, only a lone small lamp on the captain’s chart table provided a soft yellow-orange light, giving some comfort to the doe. Her eyes were black and large, alert for danger. To her eyes, the room was now a uniform gray-white, the yellow-orange of the lamp not even registering. But it was fine because it still gave her some comfort. Years of training in self-defense, and defensive combat could not completel

A soft wine came to his ear, as he felt a nose pressed against his neck. Quick puffs of breath blew at his fur. Finally he chuckled and put his arm around her.
“I'm proud of you,” she said softly.
Raven Silverwolf stood with her mate. A pure black furred female, her belly already showing with the imminent arrival of their pup or pups whichever was to come. A simple tunic covered her form. “Soon he will be in the brig here. Your many years of searching will be finally over.” She told him gently.
He growled, “I still want him b

"Fleurs Du Mal"
The ship and crew were well stocked, mooring lines removed.
“Ensign Mǎi, verify our course and destination. Mr. LeChat, proceed to the coordinates from the ensign.”
“Aye captain.” LeChat said, the wheel smoothly spun under his paws as he felt the ship vibrate from the engines the chief just kicked on. The white feline gently maneuvered the Spirit Walk out and into open aether. Mǎi typed in some numbers at his station next to the cat. Claude pushed a few buttons on his station and announced, “ETA 48.2 hours.”
“Excellent, you can tak

A blue-eyed gray furred wolf was sitting at an outdoor bistro, looking over a notebook of figures, and diagrams of electrical nature. The aether clouds overhead drifted past, making slight eclipses of the light upon the pages of his notebook. A gentle breeze blew through the decorative trees that adorned the little open cafe., The breeze brought the scents of the people, food and environment. The wolf’s sense of smell automatically singled out the smells about him, classified them into threat or no threat categories. The gentle murmur of speech filled the restaurant and his ears as they constantly tur

Chapter 6
“Red skies in the morning, Sailors take warning”
Rust patches were on nearly every flat surface outside the ship. Nothing was polished or painted any longer. She had sat too long in dry-dock waiting for the right buyer. That buyer now stood in his wardroom, staring into a small mirror. He was a large wolf, not unlike John Sandwolf. He was tall, well muscled, broad shouldered and carried an air of strength about him. Quietly, he stood in the middle of the cabin watching the aether clouds flow to each side of the ironclad nose of the ship. His color wasn’t the gray and black of the eng

A Taskmaster
But a Fine Engineer
The moon was high overhead, brightening everyone's spirits as people bustled about loading and unloading ships. Kantuck was standing on the pier, chatting with one of the Aethereals. It bubbled, and gurgled about something that caused Kantuck to hold her head back, and laugh. Then she pointed to him, said something, and he gurgled, holding his belly as well.
John, despite the bright moon and his captain being in a good mood was less jovial. He was supervising the loading of supplies. The dock workers carried the smaller packages up the long ramp that bounced and swayed under the weight of many feet. “H

Within the central hub of Sheridan Station was the office of Branden Shipworks. The office was a plain nondescript four walled office with light gray walls, a bookshelf leaned against one wall, and the other walls were decorated with a door each.
The Captain of the Spiritwalk, followed a human male who carried a folder of proposed repairs, and upgrades to her ship. She, her ship’s engineer, and Markis Branden had climbed through the hull, inside and out to build a list of much needed repairs and upgrades. Though their last venture hadn’t been the most profitable it had given them e

Unrelieved Wretchedness, and Successful Knavery
Adrift in the aether, a small nondescript island floated amongst the white filaments that cascaded down from the dark shadows of mountains that peeked down from above. Small, even by the other islands of the Dream this one had one industry, trade. That trade was a dark ruby made of high energy storing abilities, coveted by many throughout the dream. Carefully cushioned packed crates of the gemstones were stacked, ready for loading on an already crowded docks. Serpentine, claustrophobic streets snaked through the hap

Kantuck hailed from a distant village, far beyond the familiar stretches of mountainous valleys and plains that the nomadic tribes called home. There she served as one of the chief's most trusted advisors. On matters of diplomacy, Kantuck was unrivaled. Her presence had proven pivotal on more than one occasion in quelling disputes between the neighboring tribes, but in recent days the chief of Kantuck's village had observed a strange and troubling change come over his beloved friend. Kantuck would become besieged by unexpected fits of rage and anger she readily
